‘Howard Stern Show’ ‘insane’ women-only dress code rule revealed

Female employees working for “The Howard Stern Show” are reportedly not allowed to always wear sneakers in the office, despite men being able to.

The US Sun reported Wednesday that female workers hide their shoes under desks at the SiriusXM office in New York City.

“There is this rule that it doesn’t matter what kind of footwear men wore [sic], but the women are not allowed to wear sneakers at work,” an insider told the outlet.

According to the source, women are instructed to have certain shoes at the ready in case higher-up executives walk through the office.

“I know of people that still like keep like non-sneakers in case certain execs are expected in the offices,” the insider alleged.

The source explained that they would’ve expected the rule to have loosened up after the COVID-19 pandemic, alleging that they were also told to dress up over Zoom.

However, that wasn’t the case.

“Times have changed but also maybe don’t have different rules for men and women,” the insider claimed. “That’s insane.” 

The US Sun also cited a 2013 video of head honcho Howard Stern calling out his staff for what they were wearing in the office, in front of clients and talent they had worked hard to secure for interviews.

“Some people around here look like zombies from ‘Walking Dead,’” the radio personality, 72, said during a PowerPoint presentation. “We look like a college radio station. We look like we have homeless people working here.”

“It’s off-putting and scary,” he said, urging employees to “work on their appearance” and dress up during interview days, Monday through Wednesday, to make good impressions on clients.

“I’m not saying we’re a suit-and-tie organization,” Stern added, insisting that they just “upgrade their appearance” and avoid “shlubby” dresses and “homeless looks.”

“If a celebrity comes in, you MUST look nice,” the PowerPoint reads. “I will send you home! … No one is an exception.”

Additionally, insiders told the US Sun that employees are forbidden from speaking to Stern at work events and can be fired if they break the rule.

A rep for “The Howard Stern Show” wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
