Karen Derrico Appears to Threaten Her Child on Phone Call: ‘They Asked Me to Abort You’: Report

TLC personality Karen Derrico seemingly threatened her child while on a contentious phone call amid her recent arrest and legal drama.

According to audio obtained by TMZ on Thursday, June 25, the Doubling Down With the Derricos alum, 46, was on the phone with some of the 14 children she shares with ex-husband Deon Derrico. The exchange turned heated when Karen appeared to slam one of her kids for calling her “a liar.”

“Don’t you ever do that again. Don’t you ever while you live and call me a liar again. You don’t know what is going on,” she scolded. “You don’t know it. So do not ever call me a liar because you don’t know.”

One of the kids then told Karen they put the baby stuff in the family’s car, but she continued to vent her frustration over the disagreement.

“That pissed me off. Don’t ever do that s***,” she said a little bit louder. “You don’t know what the hell I’m going through and what I’ve been through. You’re only going by what he said. I’m the one that carried your little behind. I’m the one that told the doctors no when they asked me to abort your little ass. Don’t ever do that again. Because you make me regret it. Don’t play with me.”

One of the kids repeatedly told his mother, “OK,” as she continued to get upset. Amid her frustration, another child who appeared to be one of Karen’s kids said, “No wonder why you said you were going to kill me.”

“No, I never said [that] I said I’d kill you if you piss me off … because you’re disrespecting me because your little behind is enabled,” Karen fired back. “That’s why you’re doing that. Don’t say nothing.”

News of the phone call comes shortly after Karen was arrested in Las Vegas. Earlier this week, the former reality star was charged with harassment, violating a restraining order, preventing a witness from testifying through threat of violence and aggravated stalking after allegedly sending Deon several threatening emails.

“I want you dead,” Karen allegedly wrote in a June 14 email, according to court records obtained by Oxygen True Crime. ”I could kill you, and it won’t even bother me to go to jail and I’ll kill any of my kids if they take your side.”

Karen was arraigned on Tuesday, June 23, and pleaded not guilty.

“The allegations are completely false,” her attorney Jess Marchese told Oxygen. “And we will prove they were completely fabricated by Mr. Derrico.”

Karen and Deon rose to fame on the reality series Doubling Down With the Derricos, which aired for five seasons on TLC. The show, which followed the former couple’s life with their 14 children, came to an end in 2024, the same year the pair divorced.
