Kristin Cabot’s Husband Addresses Their Divorce Following Coldplay Kiss Cam Scandal

Kristin Cabot’s estranged husband is addressing their divorce in the wake of her viral kiss cam moment with former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron during a Coldplay concert.
A spokesperson for Andrew Cabot told People in a statement on Monday, September 8, that Kristin and Andrew “were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert.”
The spokesperson added that the pair’s “decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening. Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued.”
Andrew is the CEO of Privateer Rum, a New England distillery, and has two children from a prior marriage, according to People. He and Kristin do not have children together. Kristin was previously married to Kenneth Thornby, whom she divorced in 2022. The exes reportedly share a child.
Kristin filed for divorce in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 13, per court documents obtained by The Daily Mail on September 6. At that point, neither she nor Andrew had publicly addressed their separation. (Us Weekly has reached out for comment.)
Kristin, formerly Chief People Officer at Astronomer, made headlines when she and her then-boss, Byron, were caught on a jumbotron embracing as they watched Coldplay’s July 16 show at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts. As the camera panned over to Kristin and Byron, she turned and shielded her face while he dropped to the ground to hide.
“Whoa, look at these two. All right, come on. You’re OK,” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked at the time. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy. I’m not quite sure what to do.”
Martin, 48, told the crowd, “I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
Byron and Kristin had worked together at Astronomer, a tech company, since November 2024. After their kiss cam footage spread online, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, seemingly removed his surname from her Facebook profile. Byron soon resigned from his job.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” a company spokesperson told Us in a July 19 statement. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”
On July 24, Us confirmed that Kristin had left her position as well.
“Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer,” a spokesperson told us at the time. “She has resigned.”
Byron had personally announced Cabot’s hiring the previous November, saying, “Kristin’s exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.”
For her part, Kristin said she’d been “energized in my conversations with Andy and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here.”
