Kristin Cavallari forces kids to fly coach while she’s in first class: ‘Bye guys’
Kristin Cavallari’s kids don’t sit with her in first class.
The reality star explained why leaving son Camden, 13, son Jaxon, 12, and daughter Saylor, 10, in coach is “very important to” her on Tuesday’s episode of the “Aspire with Emma Grede” podcast.
“It’s good for them,” the “Hills” alum noted of the unconventional flight arrangements.
“I think it’s the little things like that as a parent that make, ultimately, I think, a big difference in the long run,” Cavallari, 39, continued.
She noted that the trio doesn’t “just get whatever they want” since she is “hyperaware” that the little ones “are growing up in a very fortunate situation.”
The Uncommon James creator said, “If they want something, they have to work for it. I want them to know, ‘This is not your money. This is my money.’”
Cavallari, who co-parents with ex-husband Jay Cutler, confessed that it was not “difficult” to sit apart from her kids now that they’re older and she doesn’t have to worry about fights.
“I’m like, ‘Bye guys, have fun back there,’” she quipped, going on to “give [another] good example” of keeping the children down to earth.
“Last summer, both of my boys created their own little businesses,” the “Laguna Beach” alum shared. “One of my boys was washing people’s windows. And the other one was washing people’s garbage cans.”
She doubled down on the notion that “if they want something, they’ve got to work for it and … make it happen.”
Cavallari’s reveal comes four months after Jessica Simpson made headlines for sitting in first class on a trip to Hawaii while her estranged husband, Eric Johnson, and their brood sat in economy.
Simpson’s ex-husband, Nick Lachey, was on the same flight and confirmed the seating arrangements on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” in May.
“I believe her kids and her — I’m not familiar with where they stand, but — her husband, maybe, were on the plane … in a separate class of service,” the “Newlyweds” alum said at the time.
Simpson, 45, defended herself to a TMZ reporter later that same month — and blamed her mom for the controversial seating.
Tina Ann Drew “bought those tickets,” the singer claimed, insisting it was the 66-year-old’s “treat” to go on the vacation.
