Lady Gaga cancels concert last minute over health issue
Lady Gaga “truly could not feel worse” after canceling a concert in Canada due to a serious respiratory infection.
The “Abracadabra” singer took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to announce she wouldn’t be able to perform her third and final show at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, that night.
“I’m so sorry to share that I’m unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show,” Gaga, 40, began. “I’ve been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it’s gotten worse.”
She continued, “My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve.”
The “Poker Face” hitmaker went on to acknowledge “how deeply disappointing this is” for her fans before adding she “truly could not feel worse” about letting them down.
“I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me,” Gaga wrote. “Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful.”
She concluded, “To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry.”
Gaga’s reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The 16-time Grammy winner played her first two shows at the Montreal venue late last week as part of her Mayhem Ball Tour.
She currently has three shows left on the tour, including two in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on Thursday and Friday, followed by one more at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Monday.
Gaga – who is close to tying the knot with her fiancé, Michael Polansky – first announced her Mayhem Ball Tour in March 2025 following the release of her seventh studio album, “Mayhem.”
“This is my first arena tour since 2018,” the “Just Dance” singer said at the time. “There’s something electric about a stadium, and I love every moment of those shows.”
She continued, “But with The MAYHEM Ball, I wanted to create a different kind of experience — something more intimate — closer, more connected — that lends itself to the live theatrical art I love to create.”
But Gaga’s cancellation in Montreal on Monday night wouldn’t be the first time she was forced to pull out of a Mayhem Ball performance at the last minute, because she also canceled a concert in Miami in September 2025.
“I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” Gaga wrote on Instagram at the time.
She added, “During rehearsals last night and my vocal warmup tonight my voice was extremely strained and both my Dr. and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses.”
The canceled Miami show was ultimately rescheduled for March 13, 2026.
