Milly Alcock’s ‘Supergirl’ co-star David Corenswet demands photographer back off her: video
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s … David Corenswet to the rescue.
Milly Alcock’s “Supergirl” co-star appeared to defend the actress at Monday’s New York City premiere of the DC Universe movie.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the actor noticed a photographer reach out and touch Alcock’s back as she chatted with Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan.
Corenswet, who plays Clark Kent / Superman in the film, put his hand out and approached the snapper, seemingly telling him to back off.
Reps for Corenswet and Alcock did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Social media users praised the 32-year-old for defending Alcock, who plays Supergirl — his character’s cousin Kara Zor-El.
“Superman protecting his cousin like usual,” one X user wrote, with another raving over how he “jumped in instantly.”
A third wrote, “A big respect for David for stepping up like that. Photographers need to keep their hands to themselves.”
Alcock and Corenswet posed for pictures together at the Manhattan event.
Corenswet suited up for the occasion, while the “House of the Dragons” alum sported a strapless black top and slacks.
Last month, Alcock clapped back at early critics of the blockbuster.
“[The hate is] from a lot of people whose profiles have no photo, who are burner accounts,” Alcock told Variety in May. “Or someone’s name and then ‘Dad of four, Christian,’ which is hilarious to me.”
She went on to ask, “Whose opinion do you really care about? If you’re pissing the right kind of people off, you’re doing OK.”
Earlier this month, Alcock’s physical appearance was even publicly shamed by former Superman Dean Cain — and fans blasted the 59-year-old’s “cruel” and “disgusting” comments.
Alcock noted in an April Vanity Fair interview that she was bracing for backlash over “simply existing” as the lead role.
“Of course I’m scared,” she said at the time. “Of course, I want people to like me and the movie. But, ultimately, it’s out of my control.”
“Supergirl” hits theaters Friday.
