NBA Star Tyrese Haliburton and Jade Jones Have Wedding Ceremony, Show Off Their New Rings
Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and his wife, Jade Jones, celebrated their nuptials less than two months after one of Jones’ friends died on her bachelorette party trip to St. Barts.
“MARRIED!!!! cannot WAIT to show you guys all the content 🥹🥹🥹 stay tuned!!,” Jones, 28, shared via Instagram on Monday, August 3. The caption was accompanied by a photo of her hand over Haliburton’s, showing off their new rings.
The ceremony was attended by a large swath of the couple’s family and friends and featured a surprise performance by rapper 50 Cent.
Haliburton, 27, and Jones officially got married during a small courthouse ceremony last month.
“it’s (courthouse) official 🍾💍,” Jones posted via Instagram on July 21.
The couple’s wedding comes in the tragic aftermath of the death of Makenzi Kern, who died suddenly on June 8 while vacationing with Jones and a group of friends. She was 26.
According to her obituary, Kern died of “health complications” and no foul play is expected. An official cause of death has not been released publicly.
“Kenzi was the funniest, goofiest person I’ve ever met,” Jones wrote via Instagram on June 17. “She was always making me belly laugh. She had such a gift of bringing happiness to every room she was in. Some of my favorite memories with Kenzi are the simple ones — spending a summer living in her city, leaving our mark on the capital district, running around our cars at stop lights, cheering on the bandshell together, obsessing over The Office, dancing on countertops to Hannah Montana, and watching her light up anytime she got to be on a boat.”
Jones and Kern met during their time as cheerleaders at Iowa State University, where Haliburton was also a star basketball player.
“She loved and supported Tyrese and me through every chapter,” Jones continued. “She was our biggest cheerleader and showed up for me in every big moment in my life. I can’t even imagine our wedding day without her there celebrating with us. The day will not be the same without her, but I know she will show us she is there somehow. She has been there for all of our moments since the day I met Tyrese. But Kenz will forever live on in my memories, my laughter, my stories, and in the person I am because of her. I will never stop laughing about all our memories together.”
