Nicole Kidman regrets straightening her naturally curly hair: ‘Do not follow in my footsteps’

Nicole Kidman has one big beauty regret.

In a video interview for her May 2025 Allure cover, Nicole Kidman reflected on her hair during the beginning of her Hollywood career, wishing she never touched her naturally curly locks.

“Why did I straighten my hair?” she said with a sigh of frustration followed by a giggle. “I loved my hair there. That is my natural hair,” Kidman told the interviewer as images from her role in the 1990 film “Days of Thunder” flashed on the screen.

“Isn’t that crazy?” the actress noted, adding “So for all the little girls out there, embrace the curl. Do not follow in my steps and straighten your hair.”

Kidman then got a bit emotional. “I look like my daughters,” she explained, referring to Miu Miu model Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, whom she shares with husband Keith Urban. “Well, that makes sense,” Kidman continued.

And though the “Big Little Lies” star rarely rocks her natural ringlets these days, she says she can blow dry and scrunch her hair for the curl to “come back in abundance.”

She added, “I can do that to my hair still, but it needs to be kind of humid, and I need to use the right product.”

Kidman never passes up the opportunity to rock a wig, either. Such was the case for her Allure photoshoot, where she donned various bright copper looks.

Meanwhile, for the second season of “Nine Perfect Strangers,” which hit Hulu on May 21, the iconic actress wears an icy blond wig with super sharp bangs.

And for the Met Gala 2025, she had everyone guessing whether or not her two-toned pixie cut was her real hair.

Spoiler: It wasn’t. She confirmed it was a wig in an interview with Australian network Channel Seven’s “Sunrise.”

“Everyone’s like, ‘Did you chop your hair off?’ I’m like, ‘No, I did not,’” she explained in the video.

It’s safe to say she has one of the most popular heads of hair in Hollywood.
