NYC Permit Reveals Strict Rules Put in Place for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s MSG Wedding (Exclusive)
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce had to abide by strict permit rules for their iconic Madison Square Garden wedding.
Us obtained the permit from the New York City Mayor’s Office filed by Winick Productions, which was submitted for June 28 to July 4 and detailed road closures for the “special event” at the venue. The request asked for permission to clear and hold parking in advance on the blocks surrounding MSG.
According to the docs, all cables had to be “securely covered for safe pedestrian passage,” while an emergency lane was “maintained at all times” and parking could only be held 24 hours in advance. Interior and exterior locations “may be subject to FDNY inspections” per the docs, while the event was asked to have “minimal noise” after 10 p.m. ET.
The docs also required no interaction with pedestrian plazas, green spaces or bike lanes, and no interaction within 15 feet of any restaurant “actively participating in open dining.” There could also be “no construction of pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow,” while a “safe pedestrian flow” had to be maintained “at all times.” Sidewalks and city property were allowed as available.
There was additionally a request for “no parking in a no stopping zone,” “no parking at bus stops” and no trucks idling or with detached trailers.
The production company filed the permit under the project name “Special Event at Madison Square Garden – 7.3” and informed the mayor’s office of its $2 million insurance policy, valid from August 9, 2025, to August 9, 2026. The company also shared that about 50 trucks needed access to the venue for setup and teardown.
A source exclusively told Us earlier this month that the pop star and the NFL athlete were planning to have a “whimsical” celebration. Just days before the big day, a fleet of trucks was spotted making deliveries at MSG to drop off technical equipment, decor and even food.
On the wedding day, Us obtained video of multiple trucks — including deliveries from Bradley Cooper’s cheesesteak company and famed NYC pizza spot Mama’s Too — coming in and out of Madison Square Garden. (Sources with knowledge exclusively told Us at the time that the couple ordered upwards of 100 pizzas for their guests.)
After the week-long set-up, Swift and Kelce, both 36, got married without a hitch on July 3. The ceremony was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler, while the couple opted for no groomsmen or bridesmaids. Instead, Taylor’s brother, Austin Swift, was her man of honor while Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, served as his best man.
“Taylor was emotional while reciting her vows but kept her composure,” one insider shared with Us earlier this month. “You could tell she put a lot of work and time into writing her vows. Travis teared up more than Taylor. They shared very personal details and anecdotes that some guests had never even heard before.”
Multiple sources told Us that Taylor walked down the aisle to a string quartet version of her 2008 track “Love Story.” After the pair said “I do,” digital billboards outside Madison Square Garden read, “JusT&T Married.”
“The whole night felt really intimate and personal despite being in an arena and how star-studded the guest list was,” one source exclusively shared with Us earlier this month. “There were about 1,000 guests there, but it felt intimate.”
