Pregnant Alex Cooper breaks silence on rumors of ‘marital issues’ with Matt Kaplan

Alex Cooper denied she and husband Matt Kaplan are having problems in their marriage after rumors suggested the two were on the verge of splitting.

Cooper, who’s pregnant with their first child together, addressed the rumors head-on during her “Call Her Daddy” podcast episode Wednesday. Cooper talked about her and Kalpan’s red carpet appearance last month at the 2026 YouTube Upfront, sharing that she was worried people might figure out she was pregnant — but the status of their marriage was all anyone talked about.

“The only rumors that actually came from the carpet were just how miserable my husband and I looked,” Cooper said. “To see people overanalyzing Matt and me as we were earnestly trying to hide this pregnancy, I was so relieved that they were talking about our dynamic, our supposed marital issues, and no one was talking about a potential bump.”

She added, “It was a win for the Cooper-Kaplans that day.”

Cooper, 31, insisted she and Kaplan, 42, were not on the verge of splitting.

“You read those things, and Matt and I are like, no one in our life, our closest friends, our family, is wondering those things,” she said.

“It is crazy to see the internet be like, ‘Oh my God, they’re on the rocks.’ And we’re like, “Wait, wait. We are? What’s happening?’” she continued. “I think that is an odd part of the job that I don’t enjoy.”

Cooper said fans don’t need to worry about her and her husband, bluntly noting that they are “great.”

The couple tied the knot in April 2024 in Mexico. The Daily Mail reported last month that the two were experiencing “tension” in their marriage, and were sleeping in separate bedrooms.

An insider told the outlet that the pair’s “tension” was mounting even before Kaplan was accused of berating and threatening the staff at his and Cooper’s production company, Unwell Network, in a bombshell Bloomberg report published in April.

According to the source, Cooper was struggling to deal with the fallout from the accusations against her husband.

“This is Alex Cooper’s biggest fear: bad press,” the insider claimed. “It matters to her. She wants to control the narrative, always. She is insecure and cutthroat all in one. She really doesn’t have that many friends.”

The couple didn’t address the rumors at the time, though they shocked fans when on May 17, Cooper announced she was pregnant. The podcast host shared photos of her beaming while showing off her growing baby bump, captioning the pics on Instagram, ““Our family 🤍,”
