Rob Reiner earns posthumous Emmys 2026 nomination for ‘The Bear’
Rob Reiner has earned a posthumous Emmy nomination for his role in “The Bear” after his tragic murder.
The late actor was nominated on Wednesday for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy for his performance as Albert on the hit FX show.
Reiner portrayed businessman and restaurateur Albert Schnurr in the fourth season of the culinary comedy, which has received eight nominations in this year’s upcoming awards ceremony.
Hollywood has been in mourning since Rob and his wife Michele Singer Reiner’s tragic passings last December.
“The Bear” paid tribute to Rob in the series finale. In the emotional scene, line cook Ebra, played by Edwin Lee Gibson, calls Albert for assistance about expanding the restaurant into a franchise.
Ebra chats with Albert on the phone, telling him, “Albert, we are in business.”
Ebra then asks, “Anything else I can do?” and while Albert’s response can’t be heard, Ebra replies, “As you wish.”
The line was a reference to Rob’s iconic film “The Princess Bride,” in which main character Westley, played by Cary Elwes, famously expressed his devotion to Princess Buttercup, played by Robin Wright, by telling her several times, “As you wish.”
The legendary filmmaker was also honored during the 98th annual Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles in March.
Billy Crystal was joined by more than a dozen stars from Rob’s films to pay an emotional tribute to the late director, which led the In Memoriam segment.
Rob and Michele were found dead in their Brentwood home on Dec. 14. He was 78, while she was 70.
According to their death certificates obtained by Page Six, the couple died within “minutes” of receiving “multiple sharp force injuries” with a “knife, by another.”
Their youngest son, Nick Reiner, was arrested in connection with their deaths hours after the stabbings.
Nick — who has a long history of drug addiction and mental health issues — pleaded not guilty on Feb. 23 during an appearance in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
He is facing two counts of murder with an enhancement that could carry the death penalty or life without parole if he is convicted.
