Sharon Osbourne remembers ‘charismatic and real’ husband Ozzy on anniversary of his death
Sharon Osbourne reflected on her late husband Ozzy Osbourne’s life and legacy on the first anniversary of his death.
The former “talk” host said she wanted people to remember how the musician was “funny and charismatic and real.”
“As Ozzy would say, ‘When you want to remember me, just yank up the music really loud, as loud as you can get it, and just head bang,’” she recalled in a new interview with the BBC.
Sharon said Ozzy “was authentic” and “never tried to be anything other than what he was.”
“He would tell you the truth about everything and that was him, you knew where you were with him,” she recalled.
“He was just genuine, so genuine and funny,” the former reality star, 73, added.
“I mean, we could have the worst arguments in the world but we would end up laughing because he would say something so ridiculous that we would just crack up,” Sharon remembered.
Sharon and Ozzy’s youngest daughter, Kelly Osbourne, also honored her father on the anniversary of his death, writing a lengthy letter about how her “world changed forever” when the Black Sabbath frontman died.
“Today I sit beside you in a way I never thought would be possible. I know you are still with me. I feel you in the quiet, in the wind, in every song that stops me in my tracks, is [sic] the smell of your cologne and in every moment that the love outweighs the grief. You are all around me,” she wrote on Instagram.
“The hardest part isn’t that you’re gone. The hardest part is that I can’t touch you. I can’t hold your hand. I can’t wrap my arms around you or feel the safety that only you could give me,” the former “Fashion Police” host, 41, added.
“I always thought life was hard, but life without you has been the hardest thing I have ever had to endure.”
Kelly concluded her letter by saying that though her heart “aches every single day,” it has been the “greatest privilege” to have “loved someone so completely.”
The rockstar died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76 after suffering from a heart attack.
