Taylor Swift announces original ‘Toy Story 5’ song ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’
Taylor Swift fans knew all too well what the pop star was up to.
The Grammy winner confirmed Monday that she wrote a new original song for “Toy Story 5” called “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
The singer, 36, announced via Instagram, “It’s a *Toy* Story 🤠 You knew it! My new original song ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ for Disney and @pixar’s @toystory 5 will be yours on June 5th.”
Swift noted that she has “always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who [she has] adored since [she] was a 5 year old kid watching the first ‘Toy Story’ movie.
“I fell instantly in love with ‘Toy Story 5’ when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening,” she continued. “Sometimes you just know, right?”
The songwriter concluded, “You can pre-order now exclusively on my site and catch Toy Story 5 in theaters June 19th ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️.”
Swift smiled while surrounded by flowers in the photo that kicked off the carousel, and subsequent slides teased album covers for original, piano and acoustic versions of the song.
She shared links to three collector’s edition CDs — “each with unique vocals and production” — to her Instagram Story.
Swifties speculated that this reveal was on the way when the “Love Story” hitmaker uploaded a “Toy Story”-themed countdown to her website in April.
The blue background with white clouds, which appeared to hearken back to the movie’s poster, was only live for 10 minutes.
Later that same week, Swift stepped out in New York City — and eagle eyed social media users noticed her blue and white striped dress, red heels and yellow bag all seemingly pointed to the film franchise.
“If Taylor announces an original song for Toy Story 5, the internet might actually break 😭✨,” one fan tweeted last month. “Disney + Taylor is a dream combo.”
At the time, Swift’s rep did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The ensemble included more Easter eggs as Swift accessorized with an opal ring worn by Elizabeth Taylor, whom she sings about on her “Life of a Showgirl” album.
Opal, notably, is her fiancé Travis Kelce’s birthstone.
She and the Kansas City Chiefs player, also 36, started dating in the summer of 2023 and got engaged two years later.
They are set to tie the knot in New York City next month.
