Tiger Woods’ pal blasts golf pro as ‘terrible driver,’ reveals why he likely refused urine sample after arrest
A former Tiger Woods employee blasted the golfing champion as a “terrible driver” as he speculated on the cause behind the sports star’s wild rollover car crash and DUI arrest.
“The guy is a terrible driver…he drives like a bat out of hell very often on a road where lawn services are parked with heavy equipment,” the anonymous insider told the Daily Mail.
“I’ve been with him in the car going 55 or 60 mph, driving past cops who don’t seem to care,” the source added of Woods, who has a history of serious car accidents.
Woods was arrested and charged with a DUI, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test after he managed to flip his Land Rover on its side in a two-car crash on Friday.
After he was taken into custody, he was subjected to various sobriety tests. Though he “blew multiple zeroes” on the breathalyzer, according to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, he refused to submit to a urinalysis test — which the insider explained is not likely due to the golfer taking “illegal drugs.”
“I know the guy, that’s just not what he does,” the source revealed.
The insider told the outlet that he thinks Woods declined to give a urine sample because he “has been on tons of pain medication for years” to treat his repeated injuries.
A rep for the pro golfer did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The golfer, 50, has previously admitted to taking various drugs before operating his vehicle.
Following his 2017 car accident, Woods admitted to cops that he had taken a Xanax before getting behind the wheel of his Mercedes and falling asleep on a Florida road.
A toxicology report later revealed he had Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanax, Ambien and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in his system at the time of the crash.
Woods was first reported to have been in his latest car crash on Friday evening.
Authorities said Woods was driving through a residential area in Jupiter, Fla., around 2 p.m. ET when he attempted to pass a utility pressure cleaner truck and ended up hitting the “back end” of the truck’s trailer.
The impact caused his vehicle to veer nearly off the road and flip over onto its side.
Woods was unharmed in the accident and able to climb out of the vehicle. Photos taken at the scene appeared to show the athlete attempting to make a phone call.
Skid marks on the street showed where Woods lost control of his car before it fell over.
In his Friday press conference, Budensiek revealed that there had been drug recognition experts on the scene of the crash, where they came to the conclusion “that [Woods] was not impaired with alcohol, but they believe it was some type of medication or drug.”
He appeared to have been alone in the crash as a source exclusively told Page Six that his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump — who he has been dating since early 2025 — was not with him at the time nor was her daughter, Kai.
The pair had been seen supporting the golfer at the Jupiter Links Golf Club tournament earlier in the week.
Woods was taken to the Martin County Jail shortly after the crash and released after he was held for eight hours, as mandated by Florida law.
