Timothée Chalamet’s ‘dismissive’ sister gave Kylie Jenner the ‘cold shoulder’ in Oscars exchange: expert

Timothée Chalamet’s sister, Pauline, appeared to give Kylie Jenner the “cold shoulder” during their run-in at the 2026 Oscars Sunday night.

Body language expert Susan Constantine exclusively spoke with Page Six after a video of the “Sex Lives of College Girls” alum’s seemingly chilly interaction with Jenner went viral on social media.

The video, shared by E! News, captured Pauline chatting with the “Marty Supreme” star — who was nominated for the best actor award last night — while Jenner was seated behind them.

Once Jenner noticed Pauline, she stood up to give her a hug, while Pauline seemed slightly hesitant.

“Pauline dismissed Kylie quickly,” Constantine believes. “Kylie, while seated, was taken by surprise but showed genuine interest by making eye contact and brows raised.”

Constantine believes Pauline gave the Kylie Cosmetics founder “the non-verbal cold shoulder,” noting that the actress appeared “impersonal, dismissive and disingenuous.”

“Pauline’s body language swiftly shifted away from Kylie,” Constantine noted, describing her apparent “nonverbal smug.”

“Pauline’s body language also showed hesitation before the faux hug.”

Social media users flooded the comments section of the post to point out the apparent awkwardness between Pauline and her brother’s partner.

“The sister doesn’t like Kylie,” one person theorized, prompting more than 20,000 likes from other social media users.

“That was a weird moment. Can tell she’s not a Kylie fan,” a second person agreed.

“Everything in this clip was awkward,” a third commenter weighed in, with another adding, “The fakest interaction I’ve ever seen.”

However, other Instagram users shut down speculation that there is animosity between the two.

“People are just haters … you can clearly see Kylie sitting back down …his sister seems shy …nothing awkward here…y’all need to chill,” one defender commented.

“Why does everybody have to constantly criticize?” another questioned.

“I thought Kylie seemed quite sweet,” a fan gushed.

Since Timothée, 30, started dating Jenner, 28, in 2023, there have been rumors that Pauline, 34, isn’t a fan of their relationship.

Pauline raised eyebrows when she posted a message on Instagram criticizing billionaires in March 2025.

 “Our system is so flawed that it allows billionaires to exist and accrue so much money and BARELY pay (and sometimes NOT PAY) ANY ANY ANY TAXES,” she reportedly wrote at the time.

“This should not be possible. Billionaires do not need to exist. Bezos, Musk, Zuckerberg SITTING IN FRONT OF cabinet is NOT DEMOCRATIC. NOT. DEMOCRATIC,” she added.

Fans pointed out that the message could have been aimed at Jenner — who was named a self-made billionaire by Forbes in 2019. (The outlet later retracted the label after looking into her financials.)

However, Pauline and Jenner have been seen spending time together — seemingly shutting down the unfounded feud rumors.

Pauline was seen hanging out with the Hulu personality at a low-key barbecue in May 2023.

Pauline showed her support for Jenner again when she reportedly attended a Kylie Cosmetics pop-up event in West Hollywood in October 2025.
