Bridgerton Season 4 Release Schedule: When Do Part 1 and Part 2 Come Out?
NEED TO KNOW
- Season 4 of Bridgerton will be released on Netflix in two parts
- The fourth season was adapted from the third book in Julia Quinn’s series, An Offer from a Gentleman
- The story will follow the second-oldest Bridgerton sibling, Benedict, as he finds love with a maid named Sophie
Bridgerton fans have been patiently waiting for their next love story.
It’s been nearly two years since the third season of the hit Netflix drama — adapted from Julia Quinn’s book series of the same name — was released, chronicling Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin’s (Luke Newton) long-awaited romance. On Jan. 29, the next eligible Bridgerton bachelor will begin his search for the one.
Season 4 of the series follows Benedict (Luke Thompson) as he falls head-over-heels for a mysterious Lady in Silver at a masquerade ball. Though he believes her to be a member of high society like himself, she’s actually a maid named Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Showrunner Jess Brownell teased in a January 2026 interview with Tudum that the upcoming installment “is a very different trajectory” than past Bridgerton stories.
“Benedict lives in a fantasy world. Sophie lives in a hard reality,” she said. “You have two characters who are at opposite ends of a pole, and rather than either of them needing to get all the way to the other side, they both need to travel to the middle. Between fantasy and reality, true love lies in the middle — neither one creates the circumstances for romance to bloom. You have to embrace a little bit of both.”
Here’s everything to know about the release schedule for Bridgerton season 4, including when new episodes will come out.
When does season 4 of Bridgerton premiere?
There are two premiere dates for the fourth season of Bridgerton. Part one will be released on Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 29, with Part 2 debuting weeks later on Thursday, Feb. 26. The series has followed this split-season approach since season 3, something Brownell revealed was a call from the streamer.
“We had actually written and produced the entire season before Netflix approached us to split the season into two,” she told Town & Country in May 2024. “We did have a choice of where we wanted to split it, and it really worked perfectly to split it into equal parts. We always break the season with a midpoint at the end of episode four, which turns the action on its head for back half.”
How many episodes are in season 4 of Bridgerton?
Like all three seasons before it, season 4 of Bridgerton will also consist of eight episodes. While fans will always argue for more of their favorite high society characters, Brownell has promised that it’s all by design.
“There is a natural structure to eight episodes, and we’ve done it actually every season, that Episode 4 ends on a big world-shifting midpoint,” she previously told Tudum.
As for the cliff-hanging moment in season 4, Thompson teased that the reality of this Cinderella-inspired story is more complex than a traditional fairy tale.
“What’s striking about Season 4 is that it’s the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale — the romance of it — and the actual reality of the world,” the actor told Tudum.
He continued, “Both are true. You have to hold both of them — the romance and the reality — in your hand. In its best version, ‘true love’ happens in the middle of that.”
Ha, on the other hand, had a different take on season 4’s love story.
“This season is a lot—is darker the right word?—for Bridgerton,” the actress told W Magazine in January 2026. “There’s something in the class struggle and the class divide, and opening up the Bridgerton universe to the downstairs universe, that made it more grounded. There are actual societal stakes at play.”
