David Harbour admits to Millie Bobby Brown tension on ‘Stranger Things’ set
David Harbour confirmed he had tension with Millie Bobby Brown on the set of “Stranger Things.”
Harbour spoke about the allegations that Brown filed a harassment and bullying claim against him before they shot the final season of the Netflix show for the first time in a Variety interview published Wednesday.
The 51-year-old actor called the timing of the Nov. 1, 2025 Daily Mail story with the allegations “a weird thing” and said it “came out in a weird way.”
“It’s a show that went on for 10 years,” he explained of the hit Netflix series. “We worked together for 10 years during her formative teenage years, playing father and daughter.”
The “DTF St. Louis” star compared his alleged drama with Brown, 22, to families who “occasionally get in arguments, disagreements” but always “come back together.”
Harbour also claimed other people on the show’s set got “involved” in the situation, but once he and Brown “cleared everybody out of the way and talked to each other,” they were “fine.”
“Everyone nowadays is very scared of talking about things,” he told the outlet. “People are very scared of being human. It’s unfortunate, because I don’t know how to navigate this weird media world.
“But it was completely normal, and we adore each other and always have,” he added.
Harbour also hinted he and Brown have plans to work together again.
Straight up, Millie and I are working on several … You’ll see more of me and Millie — 10 years wasn’t enough,” he shared. “There is a special bond there. I love her. She loves me.”
In a statement to Variety, Brown said she “changed so much” during the nine years that “Stranger Things” aired and noted Harbour “was there through all of it.”
“Over time, our relationship became much more collaborative creatively,” the “Enola Holmes” star continued. “When you work with someone for that many years, we could really push each other emotionally in scenes.”
Brown said even though the show ended after five seasons, she still has “gratitude” for her relationship with Harbour.
“Getting to share that experience with him for so many years is something I’ll always remember and value,” she added.
Elsewhere in the Variety story, Harbour confirmed he skipped the celebrations for the “Stranger Things” finale in December because of mental health issues.
“I had a breakdown,” Harbour said, before laughing and adding, “I do suffer from some confusing stuff — it’s confusing as hell.”
“I think a lot of people have a friend or a brother or a co-worker that deals with mental health stuff, and they’re probably pretty confused when that person gets depressed or gets manic or has an episode,” he shared.
The Emmy nominee said he’s “ashamed” of himself for exhibiting “erratic behavior”
