DWTS Pro Emma Slater Praises Her ‘Strong Legs’ in Photo of Revealing Dance Costume

Emma Slater is bringing body positivity into the new year. 

On Monday, Jan. 26, the Dancing with the Stars pro dancer, 37, shared several photos of herself dancing with Val Chmerkovskiy on Instagram while wearing a beautiful silver costume featuring slits that show off her toned legs. 

“To all my ladies who feel self conscious about their strong legs, Let’s get them out more in 2026🫶🏻,” Slater wrote in the caption. “You’re a baddie exactly the way you are❤️.”

In the comments, several of her DWTS costars were quick to show their love and support.

“Baddie bawdy goals 😍😍😍😍,” Jenna Johnson wrote, while former pro dancer Lindsay Arnold added, “I LOVE YOUR LEGS EMS.”

Even Danielle Fishel, who competed on season 34 of the dance competition show alongside partner Pasha Pashkov, gushed, “Literally saved one of these pics as leg inspo for myself!😍”

Meanwhile, Slater’s boyfriend, Alan Bersten, who confirmed their relationship with an onstage kiss at the final performance of the DWTS: Live! tour in April, commented, “I love your legs ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Although she and Bersten are often competitors when they find themselves on the dance floor, Slater told PEOPLE in September that they still manage to be “supportive” of each other amid the competition. 

“Alan came into our dance rehearsal and helped out with some things,” she said at the time. “I came into their dance rehearsal, helped out. It’s great to be supportive like that.”

During season 34 of DWTS, Slater was paired with Andy Richter, and Bersten was paired with Elaine Hendrix. 

“She pulls him over when she’s trying to figure something out, and she knows I won’t be able to do it,” Richter, 59, explained of the couple. “She goes, ‘Just do this and see how it looks.’ ”

“And I’m like, ‘Are you watching, Andy?’ ” Slater chimed in, after which Richter added, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ll be like, ‘Is that for me?’ ”

Along with learning to love her “strong legs” and embracing the love she has found in her community, Slater shared another inspiring message in December about learning to be her “own best friend” and finding “peace in backing myself.”

“I now really enjoy this continuous love for myself and I know this is a nurtured commitment that I make,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a series of snaps of herself in a colorful bikini. “If you feel like you’ve also grown up people pleasing you’ll know the feeling of having to make a conscious decision to actively choose yourself.” 

“I hope 2026 you can hear your voice stronger,” she added. “I hope in 2026 you can drop serving people who don’t serve you and I hope in 2026 you choose you.”
