How to watch Oscars 2026 Best Picture winner ‘One Battle After Another’
Hollywood’s biggest night has wrapped up and we officially have a new Best Picture winner: Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another.”
Anderson, a 14-time nominee throughout his career, won his first two Academy Awards tonight for his direction and screenplay, which he adapted from the Thomas Pynchon novel “Vineland.”
“One Battle” follows Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former revolutionary living off-the-grid with his teenage daughter, Willa (Chase Infiniti). Bob is forced back into his former lifestyle when a corrupt military officer from his past (Sean Penn) suddenly reappears, just as Willa goes missing.
In addition to the biggest award of the night, “One Battle After Another” took home awards for Best Direction (Anderson), Best Supporting Actor (Penn), Best Adapted Screenplay (Anderson), Best Film Editing, and the very first Best Casting award.
