Taylor Frankie Paul Reflects on ‘Extremely Difficult Day’ After Latest Court Hearing

Taylor Frankie Paul is in reflection mode after a major win.

“Today was extremely difficult, meanwhile, there has been at least 12+ people throughout this trying to make it harder,” Paul, 32, captioned an Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 8. “Thank you God for revealing them all want to be nothing like them.”

She added, “They bully, I defend myself. not the same. Pay attention how this plays out. I trust.”

It’s unclear exactly who Paul was referring to in her social media post. However, the cryptic message came hours after she appeared in court on Wednesday amid the ongoing custody battle over 2-year-old son Ever with ex Dakota Mortensen. Both Paul and Mortensen secured wins on Wednesday.

The judge ruled that Paul will receive more unsupervised time with Ever, expanding her weekend visitation. The win came despite claims from Mortensen’s legal team that Paul has taken “less than half” of her allocated parenting time. Mortensen, 33, was also granted longer weekends with Ever on Wednesday. (Mortensen was initially granted temporary custody of Ever in March.)

The judge also ordered that Ever should never be “transported on a motorcycle” after Paul’s legal team shared photos of the toddler for an alleged ride on the back of Mortensen’s bike.

Mortensen’s legal team further alleged that Paul had been posting “disparaging” comments about him on social media. So the judge ruled neither of them should be posting “negative comments about each other” online.

A third party will still transport Ever between Paul and Mortensen as their respective protective orders are still in place. (A judge granted mutual protective orders in April, stemming from an alleged domestic incident that took place earlier this year. They have been ordered to stay 100 feet away from each other for three years.)

“I just don’t want them to be alone at the exchanges,” the judge noted. “I want them to stay away from each other.”

The judge also put a “discover protective order” in place to protect Paul and Mortensen transfer sensitive documents between their attorneys. He also reprimanded both Paul and Mortensen as the custody battle continues to play out publicly.

“I get a feeling like there’s a desire to keep the drama going, that it keeps it in the news. Keeps them relevant,” the judge said, noting that this “concerned” him as it could be impactful to Ever in the future.

They are due back in court on August 10.
