Team USA’s Ali Krieger Gives Shoutout to Girlfriend Jen Beattie After Ashlyn Harris Revelations

Former Team USA soccer star Ali Krieger gushed about her girlfriend Jen Beattie’s heritage amid ongoing tension with Krieger’s ex, Ashlyn Harris. 

Krieger, 41, shared a video of rowdy Scottish soccer fans at a recent Boston Red Sox game via her Instagram Story on Monday, June 15, writing: “Just a brilliant group of people. ❤️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Feeling very lucky and grateful to have a Scottish lassie as my partner.”

Beattie, a former professional soccer player herself, and Krieger started dating in 2024, shortly after Krieger’s ex-wife Harris, 40, filed for divorce in September 2023 after nearly four years of marriage. 

Earlier this month, Harris exclusively opened up to Us Weekly about the end of the couple’s relationship. 

“I don’t resent or regret anything about the life that I built with her; it just wasn’t for me,” Harris said. 

She added, “You try and you try and you try and you keep trying to make it work and you don’t want to fail. You don’t want to give up. But also, life is really short and really long at the same time. I get one shot at this. There’s no second act. If I’m feeling this way in my 30s and I’m so unhappy that I don’t want to get out of bed, am I really serving her and my children and my friends and myself?”

Krieger and Harris share two children: daughter Sloane, 5, and son Ocean, 3. 

“I had to make a really hard decision,” Harris said of her divorce from Krieger. “I know I hurt her in that process.”

Harris started dating actress Sophia Bush in October 2023, and now says she is “the happiest I’ve ever been.”

“I love myself. I don’t remember the last time I woke up being like, ‘I love the person I’m looking at in the mirror.’ I [used to] have to remind myself every day, ‘You’re enough. It’s going to be OK. Just gotta put one foot in front of the other.’”

She added, “Life is too short to feel the burden and weight of a life you don’t want to be in and you don’t want to live. It f***ing sucks, and you have to make the hard decisions sometimes, but on the other side of that bravery is a life maybe you’ve always imagined. I’m privileged enough now to live that.”

As for Krieger, she celebrated her “favorite person” Beattie’s birthday last month. 

“Life feels lighter, happier, and a whole lot better with you in it,” she wrote via Instagram on May 132. “The love, care, and laughs you bring into our lives means everything to us, and watching the kids adore you the way they do makes me smile every day. We love you! 💝💐🥳🎈”
