The truth behind Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s ‘romance’ revealed

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are just friends — despite their romantic, headline-making press tour.

“There was instant chemistry but it never developed into an intimate relationship,” a source exclusively tells Page Six Friday, following reports that the “Naked Gun” co-stars touted a romance for publicity.

We’re told that both Anderson and Neeson’s inner circles “were rooting for them” but their relationship as pals “never came to be anything more.”

However, we’re also told that the co-star’s friendship is indeed “genuine” and “they will always be friends and have a connection.”

Page Six has reached out to reps for Neeson, Anderson and Paramount for comment.

While neither the “Baywatch” alum nor the “Taken” actor has addressed the speculation publicly, a source told People Friday that “everything between them has been genuine.”

“Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt,” the insider added, denying reports that their flirty behavior on the press tour was all for PR.

Earlier this summer, fans around the world swooned over the Hollywood stars getting together when they were seen acting all lovey-dovey during their movie’s press tour.

To further fuel the chatter, an insider previously told Page Six earlier this month that everything Neeson and Anderson did on red carpets was “very sincere.”

“They’re not going to show up on the red carpet and be adorable just to be fake, that’s not either of them,” our source added at the time, further denying that there was a “fauxmance.”

Neeson’s close pal Andy Cohen — who was once good friends with the “Taken” star’s late wife, Natasha Richardson — also publicly gushed about his buddy’s new romance.

“She is an independent woman just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys,” the SiriusXM host, 57, raved of Anderson in July.

“I, and all of the friends in this circle, are very much stanning whatever this is. Shipping.”

Neeson’s son, Daniel Neeson, also appeared to publicly support his dad’s new relationship.

In late July, a source told Page Six that the “Last Showgirl” star always found the “Star Wars” actor “attractive and interesting” but shared the caveat that the pair was “still figuring things out” at the time.

The source added, “What is happening? Even they may not know.”
